Jake Paul and Mike Perry are set to face off in a boxing match, which was a pleasant surprise after the postponement of Paul’s fight against Mike Tyson. The match will take place at the Amalie Arena in Tampa, Florida, on Saturday.
Jake Paul, with a record of 9 wins and 1 loss, aims to add another former UFC fighter to his list of victories. He has previously beaten Nate Diaz, Anderson Silva, Tyron Woodley (twice), and Ben Askren. Mike Perry, who has a record of 0 wins and 1 loss in boxing, is known for his power in mixed martial arts and has revitalized his career with a 5-0 run in bare-knuckle boxing. Even though Perry lacks the size and boxing experience that Paul has, he is considered a strong challenger.
Paul has taken a big risk by fighting Perry just four months before his major fight with Tyson. At the final press conference, Paul said, "He has no footwork, no head movement, no defense. He's great offensively in bare knuckle, but in boxing, he will be picked apart quickly. I, Jake Joseph Paul, will knock out Mike Perry in less than two rounds."
The undercard for this event includes some former and current champions, as well as another former UFC fighter. Amanda Serrano, the undisputed women's featherweight champion, will fight Stevie Morgan. Serrano was supposed to fight Katie Taylor in a rematch on the Tyson card but chose to stay active with this fight instead.
